If you're an internationally trained immigrant living in Atlantic Canada, the Atlantic Immigrant Career Loan Fund can help you overcome financial barriers to upgrade your skills and obtain your license or certification so that you can:

• Practice your occupation, regulated or unregulated
• Find opportunities in your field or a related field
• Change career to adjust to the labour market needs

To be eligible for the Atlantic Immigrant Career Loan Fund you must:

• Be an immigrant Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Be a resident of NS, NB, PEI or NL
• Register as an ISANS client (if in NS)
• Register with an Employment Specialist at ISANS
• Have received training/certification outside of Canada
• Have credentials accredited/recognized
• Not have an undischarged bankruptcy or collections
• Agree to repay the loan with interest
• Have the required English skills to complete an employment plan
• Have a return-to-work action plan
