Volunteer at ISANS

Learn about the volunteer roles that are available at ISANS. Gain skills and make connections with a wide range of opportunities as you work towards building a future here in Nova Scotia.

About the Program

1. Complete an online application.

Please note that only completed applications will be processed so please make sure to fill out all required fields in the application before logging out. Please note: the link to Volunteer Registration takes you away from the ISANS website to an external site called MyImpactPage.com.

2. Sign up for a General Orientation Session.

If the group orientation time does not work for you, you can schedule an individual orientation or attend an online orientation, after you have applied.
At the General Orientation, you will learn about available volunteer roles, and the next steps to get started volunteering.
ISANS offices are wheelchair accessible, have barrier free washrooms, and a scent-free policy. If you have any questions about accessibility, please contact us at volunteer@isans.ca.

Please note: some of the ISANS volunteer roles require an intermediate to advanced English language level. This is because the roles support:

  • newcomers with beginner English levels who wish to be matched with someone who can help them practice their English
  • newcomers with a wealth of experience who seek insight into the Canadian workplace and community culture

We do have some opportunities for beginner English language speakers as well!

Volunteers must be 18 years of age and older to volunteer.
