Online Wellness Support Workshop: Art Therapy for Relaxation and Mindfulness

October 7 @ 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

In this workshop, led by art therapist Amy Mackenzie, we will discuss the value of art and image making for relaxation and mindfulness, and we will also explore the kinesthetic and sensory aspects of art making.

You will be guided in a few activities that focus on relaxation and mindfulness. You will have the option to share and discuss your artwork, but you are not required to.

Amy Mackenzie is a professional art therapist and Registered Counselling Therapist. She graduated from Concordia University with a Master’s in Creative Arts Therapies in 2011. She has worked in private practice and at a community counselling agency as both an art therapist and mental health counsellor. She has also developed and facilitated several art therapy groups, workshops, and classes.

Please note:

  • Please have on hand some blank paper and any available drawing materials, such as pencil crayons, markers, pastels, or paints
  • This session is online only through the free meeting service Zoom
