Online Information Session: Immigrant Youth Career Exploration Project

Are you an immigrant youth refugee currently attending high school? Would you like to learn more about post-secondary education options, career exploration, and Canadian workplace culture? Would you like to find a summer job? If so, then the Immigrant Youth Career Exploration Project is for you.

This program will help you:

  • Explore career options
  • Learn about post-secondary education pathways
  • Understand essential skills
  • Learn about Canadian workplace culture
  • Master job-search techniques, resume writing, and interview skills
  • Learn about financial management
  • Become certified in First Aid/WHMIS/Fire Safety
  • Gain Canadian work experience in an entry-level summer job
  • Receive employment counselling to help you with your future

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • Be a refugee youth currently attending high school (grade 10, 11, or 12)
  • Commit to attending two classes a week in the evenings or on Saturday afternoons starting
    in March
  • Be willing to work a summer job starting in early July
