Information Session: Starting a Business That Helps Your Community

Join us for an information session for the upcoming course, Starting a Business that Helps Your Community. This information session will give an overview of the upcoming 12-hour course and will help you understand if this course is right for you. You will be able to register for the course at this session.
This course will teach you how to create a business that gives back to your community. You will form teams and develop new business ideas to address local and global problems. At the end of the 6-week program, you will have the opportunity to pitch for prototype funding.
Topics to be covered in the course include:
- Introduction to social enterprise
- Idea generation
- Business model development
- Idea validation
- Pitch training
This course is in partnership with the Sobey School Business Development Centre at Saint Mary’s University. It will take place from January 10 to February 14, Wednesdays from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Course space will be limited to a maximum of 20 participants.
